The "Sun Purification Center Ume no Sato," designed by our company, is a facility specialized in the treatment of seasoning liquid generated during the production of pickled plums, a specialty product of Wakayama Prefecture. The high-salinity wastewater (up to 15% salt concentration) produced from the process of making seasoned pickled plums was previously disposed of as industrial waste outside the region. In response to the demand to "process the seasoning wastewater locally," it was decided to construct the facility in Ichinose, Kamitonda Town. The seasoning liquid collected from the pickled plum processing factory is adjusted to a pH suitable for microbial treatment, and organic matter is decomposed and removed using specialized microorganisms (halophilic bacteria). The microbial treatment process is repeated, and after removing fine debris, it is confirmed that the treated water meets the discharge standards before being released into the river. In the event of any abnormal readings, there are comprehensive measures in place to automatically halt the discharge into the river.
